Can one of you 3-5-3 guys tell me how you play your OLB vs a TE? What do you do to keep this 175 lb, quick, athletic player from being manhandled by a 225 lb TE?
If my dawg (olb) is undersized I play him 3x3 of the TE. I will play the DE in a 5 to force the dble team. I then let the dawg attack action his way. if the TE arc releases to block the olb, then the Sam shoots the window . I try to find a bigger dawg 210 to play my joker(olb to TE ). However; this is becoming harder and harder to find. When I have a bigger kid we we play a 9 tech vs a big TE.
We utilize Directions....If the Direction is to him he will attack the out side shoulder of the TE, if the Direction is away, he will attack the near shoulder of the tackle.....He aligns in a 9.....
