Hello ! I have only coached one year at high school level. I have the eighth grade and I help with the JV. Our program is shared all together. I coached youth football for five years and realized this is my passion. My question is I am looking for guidence on running a NO Huddle Spread Offense. I have about 34+- kids and they are sharp, looking for a good season. If anyone has any ideas that they would share I would be very thankful.
If you need to get up to speed on the passing game, get the Coverdale/Robinson materials "Football's Quick Passing Game". There are several books and at least one DVD. If cost is a factor, start with the book Volume 1.

Mike Emmendorfer has a really nice spread offense package that IMO would be an excellent starting point for an OC just getting started with the spread (google his name)... he has a spread playbook, and videos that go with it. This doesn't have all the answers but it can give you a good foundation to get started. For the hurry up no huddle aspect of this offense I recommend Gus Malzahn's book "Hurry Up No Huddle Offense", he gives details and ideas on how to implement this speed of play to your offense.
Watch most of the Spread teams in College..Notice where the position players are looking before the snap. Sideline makes the call use the same thing here. The key to it is practice time. If you dont use practice time to assert your two minute/ no huddle offense then you get what you get. The reason you go no huddle is to keep subs to a minimum or in the aforementioned 2 minute offense. More often than not the blocking is Base. In other words, make sure each position player has a wrist coach.
just my opinion
Its not about how much YOU know about the game, its about how much you share that knowledge with the people around you.
