Depends on the counter your running. If its an ISO type with a jab step then I would trap the LMOLOS and let the TE go second level. If its more like the Denver Stretch, then your backside blocks are cut blocks and your back is looking to cut back into them. Depending on how your back is set, ya can read dive and counter with the QB off tackle based on how the DE attack the Dive.

They key to running it is as ONEBACK says, how many in the box and where are they at. If they overload to strong side the weak counter should be an easier call.

You could run dive at the backside to block the first guy outside the guard, give the ball to the slot running motion or have the q keep it, we run it out of 2 back gun and have had a lot of success, it's tougher to time up out of 4 wide though. Maybe don't pull G/T or use some kind of motion for the kick out and lead w/the pulling guard.

We also read the backside DE on IZ, CTR, and POWER out of our base pistol alignment. OZ/stretch is our only run out of the pistol where we have our QB turn and "chase" the back getting the ball.
