Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
On our opponent's opening drive we stopped them on three and out. It was 4th and 4 and, they punted. Our returner signaled fair catch, but muffed it. He fell on it and recovered. The official threw a flag and indicated an invalid fair catch signal. He said our guy did not have his hand far enough over his head. The officials then huddled for a good 3 minutes before awarding our opponent's a first down due to the five yard penalty. The explanation I got was that is was a "live ball foul". I was livid. Our opponent's proceeded to continue their drive and eventually scored. Can anyone shed light on this? Was this the right call? It seems to me that we should have retained possession but been penalized after the play was over.
I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure anything that happens after the foot hits the ball--outside of roughing/running into the kicker--is considered post possession. Ball should have been yours with yardage marked off from the spot of the foul.

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
