Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Hey guys when you run your slant angle 50 and you get a veer release by the tackle (inside veer or Trap) what do you tell you DLM that is slanting out. What is his key does he redirect or does the LB take care of it?
When directions are out, the 4 techs aiming point is the near hip of the tackle. This places him in a more effective position to squeeze down the veer release.
CLOSE FOR TRAP OR BALL. Must check yourself now & close down to inside fast. AS you close - stay on LOS. Stay low & keep toes to line. Meet trapper with inside forearm & drive him back into hole.
NOTE: Over the years - we quit looping (& played him in a base "5"). Only slanted with T going TO the ball & N going away. Any QUESTIONS - PHONE me at 804-378-0116 (between 10 AM & 8 PM/EASTERN.
When we slant, unless it is passing down we dont slant our C Gap player outside. I feel that it is easier to have him react outside if the ball goes that way then it is to slant outside, make contact, then come crashing back inside to make a play.
Not right or wrong, that just what we do.
