I coach in New Jersey. I am a big proponent of the double wing offense (even though my school no longer runs it). I have found that against a stack 33 the very tight line splits of the double wing reeek havic on the stack because of all the stunting and blitzing.
Even this year when our team ran the I (on the freshman level) against the stack we were able to destroy the stack because we had no splits. We doubled every thing, and had the inside man keep his eyes inside for any backers blitzing. Traps were alos very affective against the stack.
So let's say double tight set (0-six inch splits) one wide reciever or even a wing back. I in the backfield.
power at the 4 hole:
in the double wing we like to pull the backside guard and tackle at the point of attack (you can only pull the guard if you want however I like to pull both. If you pull both have the tight end cut block all the way down to the b gap.)
*INSIDE MAN ON THE DOUBLE TEAM KEEPS EYES INSIDE--WE SEEK TO PUSH THE DOUBLE TEAM VERTICAL
rules: center man on man away, guard: double the nose with the center, tackle:Post block the dt, Tight end: block down and double the dt pushing vertical.
Recier/wingback: If I am going with the reciever I would motion9this can set up a counter or reverse as well) him to crack on the first, backer, inside, if you are going with a wing just have him block first, backer inside.
Fullback: kick spur/de "head in the hole" we like to move the full back up (4 yards is to deep) so his kick out angle is better
DRILL THOSE O LINEMAN TO KEEP EYES INSIDE ON ALL DOUBLE TEAMS ALSO DRILL THEM TO READ UP IF THEY ARE DOWN BLOCKING AND THE MAN THEY ARE DOUBLING STUNTS THE FAR/INSIDE GAP.
