We use quite a bit of it, they now have a crossfit football site that is really good and geared specifically for our sport. For us, we don't have a lot of players, so our kids need to be able to go balls out for 48 minutes because they never get to come off the field, it has been great for that. You will have some issues with kids that are used to old school weightroom where you come in and spend 3 hours in the gym and take 5 minutes in between sets of 3, but the kids that buy in will get huge benefits from it. It is a totally different kind of tired at the end of a workout.
I used some of this last summer for a small group of kids. From what I saw, it can be unbelievably helpful for anyone who really gets into it. It is painful at first because of the rigor level, but I think for basic athletic conditioning and explosiveness it can be great. The best thing about it is the fact that it is infinitely flexible and customizable.

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
Can you direct me to that football/crossfit website?
we have used several of the cross fit concepts into our workouts. our kids love them because they are so much different than last year. i know that many coaches are in the weightroom longer than need be. even in college, my workouts were never more than one hour. i want to work the kids as hard as i can in as little as time possible.
