Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
In regards to db's s tances when they are playing zone what are your thoughts? Should they be squared up to the line of scrimmage or should they be tilted towards the qb? I saw a spring practice for temple University on Thursday and they had their corners angled toward the qb. Thoughts?

We went away from the back peddle last season and went to the shuffle, shuffle, bail tech. Previously our stance was staggered and squared up on the receiver on the inside eye. We now angle slightly on the outside eye of the receiver. We play zone and man from the shuffle, shuffle, bail tech. We use this with our corners only playing cover 3 and 1 free. It improved our corner play and the players loved it compared to the back peddle stuff. Plus it gives you more time to focus on route recognition and other aspects of corner play rather than doing buku back peddle drills.
I agree with coach Mountjoy, both your man and zone stances must be the same or else it leads to an obvious tip for the offense. I prefer the Staggered angled stance at the QB. You can teach the same fundamentals from that stance. And this stance takes the 3 step from the QB most effectively. After 3 steps from QB, DB shoots eyes to WR and plays his responsibility. I've heard that from numerous successful coaches at clinics that this is the technique that they use.
It doesn't matter how much you know, until they know how much you care.
