Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coach, how do you handle motion with your catch technique? I am concerned that the man following the motion is "following" and may find it difficult to get in front enough to employ the catch technique. Thanks for the help.
3x1 to 2x2 is of no concern to us. 2x2 to 3x1 we have to make some decisions.
We do 2 things and it depends on what they are doing with the motion.
1. We bump all of our motions. Olb's have #2, Hero ILB (Hybrid SS) has #3. 2x2 to 3x1, OLB will let motion go and the hero will pick up and carry the motion. The olb will then stay home for the back out. 2x2 to 3x1 no one moves and the OLB will just wait and pick him up.
2. We use the FS as the adjustor. 2x2 to 3x1, FS will screw down and play the motion man OR he will screw down on the slot and the OLB TO the motion side will fire into the motion man and tackle him or play him M/M. We like this vs Flexbone and teams running rocket and jet and have been very effective with it! 3x1 to 2x2, no one moves and the OLB wil ljsut wait and pick him up.
Hope this helps.
PS.... we are a HS program and have to keep things simple and easy.
