Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I'm getting back into coaching after 10 years and when I check diagrams on the belly series, some times the QB reverses out and some times he steps straight to the dive back. Can you give me some reasons why he would reverse out, or why not.
The reverse pivot allows for the QB to hide the ball from the defense & allows for a smooth play in the sense that it's all timing based & rhythmic. QB's that open directly to the dive/belly usually can read the DE and turn the dive/belly into an option off of what he reads. It allows for 2 plays in 1, instead of having to call in the option play if he reverse pivoted.
Both are successful, just matter of what type of wing-t you're using & your philosophy using this offense.
It doesn't matter how much you know, until they know how much you care.
