I'm just looking for some ideas on rules for the I-formation up front. Example: for a couple of our series its ( man on or over, look for double team). But just wondering if someone had a set of rules that was simple and applied to most I-form plays. Thanks
We run the basic I form plays: iso, dive, sweep, power, counter. We also run the down, outside zone, and veer series (outside, inside, midline, speed, and counter option). I have grouped the plays that the blocking schemes are similar. Is there an easy set of rules that you could help me with on these type of plays?
iso, dive, sweep, power, counter = the blocking RULES can be kept "easy" if the design (assignments) of the play is kept "easy".
You CAN run dive & sweep with the base numbers. You can run counter & power with the "gap" scheme. These are the only two schemes we use (on the large H.S. level). Iso can be blocked same as dive but having a double team leaving a LBer free for a back to iso.

BLOCKING RULES:
1. COUNTER (same for POWER except trapper & wrapper exchange):
OFF H = Pull and seal
OFF T = Squeeze/hinge
OFF G = Pull and kick out end man on line of scrimmage
