2. Do you input every single piece of infomation into a software program to gain every edge and get every tendancy?
3. How useful are these reports?
4. How many of you break it down without the use of technology and just jot down the formations and write down the plays ran out of those formations? or defensively, jot down defensive fronts, blitz and coverage out of those fronts, etc.
5. At the high school level, are coaches overcoaching?
6. Could the time that coaches spend on opponent breakdown be better served by breaking down your own film and recognizing mistakes and weaknesses and fixing them?
I have been with 4 staffs over the past 15 years and we have used the technology at times and have broken it down with the old legal pad at times.

"Scouting" your future opponent is second to self evaluating and grading our own film at my school. What we do look for during film of opponents is the basic schemes and then identify individual defensive players we feel we have advantages over. Only so much time in the week. Our work is mostly for playcalling assistance than it is player knowledge base.
