Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I coach 11-12 year olds along with Junior High and assist with HS. I have an 11 year old who is very talented on my recreation team. He is constantly in trouble at school, does not do his work, and is really a team distraction. I don't want to give up on him, but many adults have made efforts to positively impact him. I am struggling with the decision to cut him for post season play (all stars team). The question I ask to those who have experience in these situations is: Will the problem-super star and team benefit more from getting cut from all stars due to bad attitude or keep him and give him a chance to grow up?
He keeps saying he is going to quit in hopes that he will get begged to play any way.
Just looking for some thoughts and sound advice on this. Remember he is 11. Thanks.

I'm with Coach Mountjoy on this. Theres and old saying " you can win with athletes but, you can also lose with them." You will probably do the young man a favor in the long run.
Having coached at that age level for several years, I can really relate to your situation coach and although it seems "cut and dried" on the surface, it can be difficult to know which route to take.
Based on your post, I agree wholeheartedly with Coach Mountjoy and Coach Campbell in saying that it will more likely benefit him not to play and hopefully learn that athletic ability alone is not everything expected of him. He is at a critical point in the process of just beginning to learn how to play the game as a teammate, and not just as an athlete.
Best of luck with everything coach.

"It's not the will to win that matters - everyone has that. It's the will to prepare to win that matters."
If something is not done to send a message that his behavior is not acceptable, it will only get worse as time goes on. Plus, you will send a message to other players that you value team play/attitude above anything else.

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
