Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
For you stack guys what are you doing vs zone read. This year we had two teams running it and we did not do a very good job with it. Part of the problem was young LB's not getting where they needed to be and the other is my lack of experience vs this offense. We are a slant/angle up front and both teams just "took" us the way we were going. Thanks for any help
Playing against a zone read team is like defending an option attack as you know. Zone read normally comes out the backside unless a team is running the veer. What do you use as option responsibilities for your zone read scheme? Coach Campbell
We have had more success running it spur to pitch and lb to q, unless the q is a bigger threat in the open than the pitch. We found it helped keep our read for the spur more similiar across offenses and it we just didn't have the speed for the LB to get over the top to the pitch man, most of the time the q is running close to off tackle and the pitch is wider, if we got a shot on the q often our lb hadn't gotten out to the pitch man yet.
