I will be posting this message on multiple websites
Gentlemen,
I just spent the weekend in Vegas with the QBA working my first camp on my certification and would like to share my experiences here.
As has been stated multiple times by coaches on this board, there is no better place to send your QB if you are looking for 100% attention to detail. I will admit, I had never done as much coaching than I did in the 3 days of the camp. The amount of detail spent over the simplest part of playing the position was extremely thorough, yet not overwhelming. At times I found myself swimming... not because I didn't know my stuff, but because I might have overlooked a small detail that needed to be explained to a kid to help him get better. If you have never experienced a QBA, the only thing I can say is MAKE IT HAPPEN. I think the most important part of the experience is the this is a QUARTERBACK camp, not a PASSING MECHANICS camp. All facets off the QB position are covered (Footwork on option, toss sweep, etc. not to mention the best attitude lectures I have ever seen). Like I said, MAKE IT HAPPEN... FIND A WAY TO GET TO ONE.
The next thing I wanted to spend a brief moment talking about is the NFA in general. For those who don't know, the NFA is the National Football Academies. The QBA is part of the NFA. I was witness to a NFA board meeting in which over 510 years of combined coaching experience hashed out the details for a WRA, RBA, DBA, DLA, OLA, LBA....that's right. There is now an academy for every position on the playing field and I believe they said the full group will launch in late spring. I'm telling you guys, find a way to become involved in the NFA. I met a great Oline coach who was working his way up the QBA certification, all the while being an integral part of the OLA (offensive line academy). They are creating a powerhouse for coaches and players of all positions.
Check out the NFA website to find out more. I believe they said the grand opening will be March 25-27 in Phoenix. I will be there continuing to work on my QBA certification while also trying to observe as much of the other academies as I can.

Like I said gentlemen, MAKE IT HAPPEN.
My thanks to Coach Slack, Coach Maddox, Coach Hewlett, Coach Cupp, Coach Rathman, Coach Robison and Coach Boice for outstanding hospitality and the most intense weekend of football coaching I have ever been a part of.
Any more specific questions, you can email me at caseyd@email.arizona.edu or post them here.
