Looking for any advantages/disadvanatages to these defenses. Why you might choose one over the other, personnell issues to keep in mind etc. Mostly going to see I, wing T, maybe some power I or other full house stuff. Very little option. If you see them as essentially the same defense speak up too. Thanks. Also interested to see what fronts you might feel are ebst suited to stop off tackle runs from the I or wing T from an even front.
Oneback, So when inutting your package, it would be a combo of 44/43? Would one of your OLB be a hybird OLB/SS ? 44 VS 2X2, what coverages would you use?
In HS, in my experience, teams are most successful with a 43 when they have an absolute beast MLB or SS. Unless you have that player to feature, or you are playing teams that you have to play Cover 4 against regularly, a 43 requires 2-gapping players, which causes added stress on the defense and I don't personally like in that in HS (usually). I try to keep my defenses simple so that the kids can attack without getting too bogged down in reads. Based on what you said in your original post, I'd base out of a 44. Just my opinion.

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
