Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I recently watched your archived webinar (Zone Read) on Glazier's Online Clinic site. I have been a flysweep guy for about 7 years now and have made the adjustment to run alot more Shotgun Zone Fly over the past 3 years. In that time period we have meshed the SZF with the zone read as well as perimeter screens. We have had some tremendous success offensively in this time, but now in my 9th year as a Varsity head coach it has become very apparent to me that we would have even greater success operating out of no huddle. I have searched this website and a thousand others looking for the best ideas on the simplest (easiest for players to understand) way to implement no huddle. Can you offer me any insight? I think I'm sold on providing the O-line with only their blocking assignments on a wristcoach, and somehow signaling in the plays to the skilled positions, but really haven't been totally sold on any mode of signalling the info in. Do you have any ideas that you would be willing to share?

Coach would be glad to help you since we are a no huddle fast tempo style of an offense. We work off wrist bands that has the plays on ithem. I have a coach signal the formation and then the code off the script for play called. Look forward to helping you with this. Coach campbell
I run a no huddle offense also. My method is to signal in a formation, play, and snap count to the players. The OL knows the number the QB calls out, while all skill positions know the signals. If you run an offense that likes to run lots of formations (as mine does), I'd recommend signaling in a specific alignment per position. I do mine like this: first signal is for X/Z (Wide Receivers), Y (Tight End), and A/B (Running Backs). This way you teach each position their specific alignments only instead of trying to get the kids to remember 50 formation signals. I'd also be happy to help you out, I run my no huddle at a middle school and it is simple enough to run there, I also have a more complex system for a high school. Email me if you'd like more information, I'd be happy to help! newt_nc@yahoo.com

Could you possibly give me an example of how you would signal in an actual play? I've given some consideration to using a track results (shows how far a kid has thrown or jumped) board to signal in the numbers rather than using hand signals. What are your thoughts on that? I really want to play at the fastest tempo possible. Any struggles we have had over the past several years have come from defenses that are constantly changing fronts and coverages. I want to attempt to eliminate this with snapping the ball as fast as possible. We intend to run two modes, Fast and Check with me. Again, any advice you can offer me would be greatly appreciated.

Coach 1149, I am searching for the answers to your same questions. I was wondering what info you have found so far and how it is working implementing it so far. Any info would be helpful.
We are planning to go no huddle next season as well. I have a few questions about play calling when in fast tempo. Is most of your play calling straight off a script other than special situations like short yardage? Most coaches use scripts and playsheets when calling plays but it seems to me that when in fast tempo you would want to have a list of plays at the ready to go straight to so that your offense isn't waiting for you to get the play in. When in fast tempo do you use many formations or do you tend to stick with one or two formations for the purpose of getting aligned faster?

Coach several ways to do it but we can start with a simple method as you get comfortable with it and I would be glad to email you how we do it. Coach Campbell
Would you mind emailing me at the email address listed in the post above? We've really struggled with the no huddle. Our kids seem to spend too much time search their wristcoach for the plays. We have used signals in the past, but as time went on teams began to pick up on our signals.

Coach you brought up a good point in regards to wrist bands and looking up the correct code. I went to calling verbally the calls from the side lines as well as the formation to the QB who in turn would alert the offense. The key here is to use words that would be un recognizable to your opponents. This allowed us to hurry the attack pace even faster. The defense has no time to rotate anyone in and out. Coach Campbell
