Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I run a shotgun veer offense where I have a dive back (power type back) and a slot back (speed back) and I was just curious as to what types of offenses everybody here runs along with their running back preference.
Obviously everybody would love to have the D1 caliber 6'+ 200+ bruiser who runs a 4.4, but realisticly what do you prefer for your offense?

Games are won during the season, Championships are won in the off-season.
I run a veer-based offense from under center (old school). I need to have a RB who has enough power to push a pile a bit, but has to have enough burst and quickness to be effective. I don't need a 4.4 type guy to run my offense. I can use 4.9 and 5.0 guys if they can get out of a stance well, and have good enough agility to run cutback effectively. Most of all, I need kids who are willing to not dance until they get past the LB level. If I have a "skat-back" player who just cannot get himself to put his nose down and hit the hole at 100 mph, then I have to use him as a slot.

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
