Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I had a coach resign yesterday. When I talked to him about it, he said the reason was that the rest of the staff with the exception of a couple of coaches are totally disloyal, want to see me fired, and question my playcalling and team decisions. He said he simply could not stand to hear guys act so unprofessionally.
Now, this is the story of one man, however I tend to believe him. As with all staffs, concerns have been raised by my guys about certain things and I have head through the grapevine some grumbling. I have always approached guys and told them to handle things man to man behind closed doors. I am not a "my way or the highway" kind of guy. While I am the boss, I am willing to listen to suggestions and ideas.
But this takes those rumors and grumblings to a whole new level. How should I handle this? Fire them all? Have a staff meeting and confront them all? Ignore it?
This is new ground for me. I have always been a "caoches coach" who values my assistants and bends over backwards for them. And now I am being plotted against?
I am really hurt, angry and confounded what to do. Any thoughts, guys?
If you have PROOF a coach is disloyal - FIRE HIM IMMEDIATELY!!! Cut this CANCER out of the team before it ruins your program (even if YOU have to coach the team alone, or with the REMAINING loyal staff members)!!!.
There is NO COMPROMISE in this case! All coaches who coach long enough will run into this situation.
I'd have a staff meeting, but I don't know I'd go into it with the "confront" idea at the forefront for the whole staff. Tell them what you are hearing, and offer them a chance to man up and discuss their issues. At this point in time, with the season just starting/getting ready to start, it would be tough to lose your entire coaching staff. I'd bet when you get to the root of things there is one coach who is your biggest issue right now. The worst thing you can do, in my opinion is ignore things. Who knows, if you can cut the poisoned vine, you might get that loyal coach back.

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
Meeting with "snakes in the grass" won't make them less venomous. Leopards don't change their spots.
Having a coach that is "a little bit disloyal" is the same as a girl that's "a little bit pregnant" - you can't CHANGE either!!!
One of the BEST coaches I ever knew started the season with 5 coaches (including himself) & 88 players. He had to let 3 coaches go for being disloyal. He & the remaining loyal coach (just the 2 of them) took those 88 players to the district championship.
Don't put up with that crap for ONE MINUTE! Be firm!!!
Of course you have to have proof if you accuse ANYONE.
If you feel deep in your heart that he IS disloyal (keep a close EYE on him & don't turn your back), don't re-hire him for NEXT season. I really cannot tell you more than this.
