Can some please give a general requirement for each level of college ball for a kicker and punter.
We had a soccer kid join the team this year (great athlete, senior) and he is just blowing us away with his leg, I know he is good enough for the next level-we do have to get him more consistant-just not sure what level I should start working with him on.
His is currently kicking about 2 out of 3 kick offs through the back of the end zone, just missed putting it through the uprights yesterday. He has kicked a 50 yard field goal, was five out of five in PAT yesterday. And his punts are almost always 50 yards + with great hang time. And this kid is just starting to learn how to kick a football.
He is an honor student and has a great GPA, not sure what his SAT is.
Frankly coach, I know some friends of mine who coach college ball who would be all over this kid just from what you are saying. Make sure he takes care of the NCAA clearing house, get a film together of his kicking, and get the word out on this kid. He's at least DII with this, and might be DI with how raw he is. Any kid who can push 70 yds in the air on kickoffs is something special.

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
