Be Who You Are & Do What You Do
Every year at about Halloween time, I like to take a moment to stress what I feel is a very important message, especially in today's day-and-age. Halloween is a great holiday—
it's one of the truly fun occasions in our society today, and it's a day that we should all enjoy.
However, Halloween also offers somewhat of a sad commentary on our current cultural state.
Halloween is intended to be a one-day event, where people dress up in various costumes for the sake of amusement and entertainment. The sad thing, though, is that far too many people "celebrate" this holiday all-too-often. For many in today's world, trying to be something they're not—and pretending to be someone they aren't—have become a 365-day-a-year practice. True, authentic, genuine people are far too rare these days. Integrity, in short, is lacking in supply.
I always like to take the occasion of Halloween to poke a little fun at the idea of "acting like someone you're not." I think it's a comical way to stress the importance of being yourself, and of striving to be your best and truest self, at that.
For many people, the pursuit of popularity, the promise of social status, or the lure of financial gain, cause men and women to try to act like something that they are not. For whatever reason, far too many people try to think, talk, act, and walk like someone else. The fact of the matter, however, is that... You were meant to be you. You were born into this world, to do what you do.
If you were meant to be someone else... then you would have been born someone else.
But you weren't. Instead, you were born you. So be you... and do what you do.
Be Who You Are ... And Do What You Do
Too many people try to be something they're not.
Too many people pretend to be someone they aren't.
Know who you are. Be who you are.
And be that person to the best of your ability.
Get really good at just being you.
Be who you are, and do what you do.
Or, as Young Jeezy would say... "Just do you."

Enjoy Halloween this year... but just remember to take off the costume after the 31st.
After all, it's only a 1-day holiday. Halloween isn't meant to last the other 364 days of the year.
Each of us was born an original... We should all strive to live as such, and we should all endeavor to remain as such. After all... You were born an original; don't die a copy.
A Halloween Quote for the Week:
"Be who you are, and be that perfectly well." ~ St. Francis de Sales
A Halloween Reminder for the Week:
"Forget about the costume... Just Be Yourself!"
~ Have a safe and happy Halloween, everyone!
