I am thinking of trying to break into college coaching and wonder if anybody can give me advice on how to find a GA job. A little backgroud on my situation. I have been coaching high school ball for 22 years, the last 4 as a head coach, but have hit a dead end and am looking for a new challange. I can afford to take a leave of absence from my teaching job to devote to learning more football.
1) Is it realistic for a 44 year old in my situation to apply and find GA positions?
2) What type of schools shold I look at?
3) What is the timeline? When do I apply? When would I start working?
Any advice any of you could give me would be great.
