Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I'm toying around with changing the offense to the jet offense. I've been to a couple of Mega clinics this past off-season(Cincinnati, South Bend). I was wondering if anyone out there has run it in the past. What are neg. and positives.
Coach, I have been selling my pamphlet consisting of our Holy 8 running plays, passing plays, drills, philosophy, and lessons learned in the first year of running the jet. If you are interested contact me at Cella570@aol.com for more information.

I can tell you how I view the negatives from a defensive standpoint:
We play a team that runs the Jet offense out of a deleware wing-t look (2wb, 1te, 1se). It has advantages if all things are equal. However, it is rendered ineffective in the following situations:
1. A defense (even a weaker one like ours has been) that keys the OG's will react quickly and shut it down. Our opponent was the top offense in our area and we were one of the bottom defenses. However, we practiced all week and told our kids, "forget jet this, counter that, and all the motions...just key the guards and react". We practiced without a backfield for a portion of practice. In the end, they had less than 150 total yards and 40 of that came on one screen play at the end of the half. They scored one TD.
2. If you do not have speed backs, your not going to be as effective as you'd like to be. You may have them this year, but what about the future?
3. In poor weather, the advantage definately goes away, especially if you are dependant on the wide game.
Suggestion: We are installing a "jet series" to our existing offense this season because we have the people to run it. Don't change your whole offense just because of a new trend. Fit some aspects that you like of the Jet O into your existing package.
Lochness, you make some outstanding points about the jet. Yes, it is a trend, but find a way to incorportate it into your own philosophy. That is when it will work the best.
