I'm on a journey of adding some new material to my OL playbook. I'm not adding new plays, just some new concepts. In my research I've noticed that De La Salle's OL fires off very differently than what I was taught even on the college level and this lead me to a few questions. Any help would be much appreciated!
What are the main concepts they teach with their footwork and lower body? And how do they incorporate the hands? I've heard the mention of 'the flipper' but can't really pick out how they are utilizing it so religiously. Any ideas?
The "Flipper" is the old chicken wing technique that the Wing-T utilizes in many cases. The thing about De La Salle, they have great athletes at RB who hit the hole at 100mph, so the linemen are basically taught to stay at the thigh pad level (just above a cut block, basically) and drive their shoulder in the OL lower half with the helmet across the body. This gives them a quick surge, and seal when they get their legs going and that's all the RB/QB mesh needs is a quick bubble and seal to make that veer read and go. As far as specific techniques and teaching, I don't know that, but I would love to be able to sit down with Coach LaDouceur and pick his brain on that.

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
I have a dvd that I got at a clinic that goes through the De La Salle oline progression pretty good stuff. Lots of sled work and working on firing off the ball
