I was wondering what some types of goal line defenses are.
I know some are more common (5-3,6-2), and then you have the more exotic ones (7 diamond, GAM/Gap 8).
I coach at the youth level, so LOTS of running the ball and very little throwing.I've been trying to choose which ones to study for the style of play in youth football, rather than studying ones that are more balanced-attack or pass oriented.
I have asked around to other coaches and a majority of them also like the 6-5.I initially gravitated towards this one (not sure why). However, I searched and searched and couldn't find any material, so I moved onto some other schemes.
For some reason, I am feeling a little overwhelmed with the goal line defenses. This is because with the normal defenses, there are pretty specific in differences, and youre going to figure out pretty quickly if using a particular one is a "no" or a "go" (at least that's what it seems like to me).
With goal line, I can't seem to choose any one I like over the other(s) because they almost all seem the same.
