Pass Blocking vs. 3-4 with 1 back offense

Have had some problems against 3-4 teams while in spread formations. Normally we slide in one direction and man opposite depending on PA or 5 step. What do you feel is the easiest and/or most effective rules. I at times just add a TE slide to the TE and keep him in. Then check release the back opposite but this limits pass route options to generally to one three receiver game or a 2 receiver game with a one on one check.
