Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
1. The receiver's "strike point" may change according to the coverage or leverage of the defender.
2. Pick out the strike point on the receiver's body before triggering your arm action.
3. Keep your head stabilized and your eyes level during the throwing motion. Do not allow your head to tilt away as your passing arm follows through. A tilted head disrupts vision and impacts strike point accuracy.
4. Anticipate the breaking point of the receiver and begin your arm action early. If you wait for the receiver to get open, you are too late.
5. When a route breaks inside and on the move — the strike point is normally one foot in front of the numbers on the receiver's jersey.
