The skip pull technique allows an offensive lineman to gain depth and width away from the line of scrimmage. the depth and width is important for providing clearance for down blocks that are being executed to his playside. This type of pull is used for plays that require the puller to block a level pull defender. Being able to pull with square shoulders makes it easy for the puller to accomplish his block while keeping quick vision on his llinebacker who he leads up on. The "SKIP PULL" gives the puller the ability to find a hole and work downhill to his target.
