Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
What does everyone do for the first week or so of defensive practice when you do not have pads on? Do you have any type of progression as far as introducing the defense? To be honest I struggle with what to do during the team period of practice more so than during group work. I find that I end up doing a lot of talking during team period the first few days and I would like to get away from that if possible.
Coach, What we do during team period without pads is have a walk through of our defensive schemes. Diagram your scheme on a portable white board and Line up the players. You can use the extra players as a scout offense. This way the players can get a handle on what you do. The coaches can make sure you are aligned in the right techniques. You can also put the scout offense in the formations your opponents run so they can recognize and adjust accordingly. Hope this helps and good luck.

The best thing to do when you do not have padded practices is to do most, if not all of the same drills you would do with pads on. There are certain drills that you can't do (Oklahoma's, sled), but you should be able to do most of the same drills. When you go team, have the defensive guys use shields. Then when the pads go on, go ALL OUT! I hope this helps.
