Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Petersburg High School in Central Virginia is using technology in hopes of better protecting it's players. The team now has high-tech helmets that are outfitted with sensors.
The sensors track any significant blows to the head when a player is hit. The technology is called the "Riddell Insite Impact Response System", Josh Wallace, head football coach for the team, said.
The sensors are linked to a handheld monitor that records which player was hit, where the player was hit and the speed of the collision. If the collision exceeds a pre-determined threshold - the handheld monitor will alert the coach.
"When the alert sounds we'll pull the player off the field and our trainer will evaluate the player", Wallace added.
NOTE: This technology is VERY "PRICEY". 6 helmets and the handheld device cost $2,500.
PS: MY question would be how do you determine WHO gets to wear one & who doesn't??? Suggest any inquiries be addressed to Coach Josh Wallace - Petersburg HS - Petersburg, Va. (804-861-4884)
