Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Please explain to me once again, how combo blocking works in an inside zone blocking scheme? Especially from a one back offense? Do the combos occur at the near ear and push to the playside with the QB booting off the backside 5 tech?
We used this last seasonn with success. we use a vertical push for inside zone. Your combo blockers are tracking down defender to backer. Your open side tackle releases to Will backer. Against an 4-3, we would have an ace combo on the one, a deuce on the three to sam, and a base by the TE. FB Leads Qb on boot from 2 back.
Coach I've helped many coaches such as Coach Vint install the near ear rule as an offensive lineman's helmet landmark for pushing the Inside Zone, ISO's, and Bounce plays with much success. What you do is have your offensive lineman find the nearest ear or helmet hole and put your helmet to it this will set the combo and , possible base call if needed. The inside zone running scheme is coaches using several different styles of footwork for your offensive lineman. Footwork by your offensive linemen should be directly related to the angle at which you will give your running back the ball. Coach lets keep this one going. Coach Campbell

Ray the stretch play is designed to stretch the down defenders and primarily allow the back to find daylight normally with the stretch this play will cut backside. On the stretch footwork for the offensive line I will dropstep the playside foot a a 45 degree angle to the LOS with them taking their helmet through the defenders playside jersey number. This is a full excet to next man out principle. Coach CAmpbell
