Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Has anyone had success stopping the jet sweep and its companion plays--trap, Jet Pass-SE Post over Safety, off tacle plays? This is pretty general just want a solid way to defend the sweep while maintaining integrity everywhere else.
Coach, I have a pamphlet out on running the jet offense . If you want to defend the jet offense you must take away the sweep first and teach all 11 defenders to play assignment football. If you are interested further in discussing this, Email me at Cella570@aol.com.

1st you must have an overhang who has outside leverage on the PS Hb and is on the line.
2) you must have gap integrity with proper run support
3) as said before you must play assignment / recognition football. (i.e. you must have somebody assigned to the gut.) when people block down - your people must close, etc. don't get carried away running people up the field to stop one play.
4) if balanced mirrored formation defend the field and rotate into the bounday on flow. Use the HS hashes - the jet is not as explosive a play into the bounday
5) same way you defend the flexbone and wing - t - teach good spolid leverage defense - do not make drastic adjustments - same as opyion or wing - t when you OVERPLAY one play the other's kill you. Studying film I've seen more FB guts / traps go untouched because of radical adjustments to the jet
6) Be able to adjust SOUNDLY vs. unbalanced formations
7) study the play as mentioned but study your opponents more. You can't defend everything equally - take away what they do best and BE SOUND AGAINST THE OTHERS
8) Don't defend ghost - not everybody runs every jet play written or drawn up. defend what they do.
9) do it out of your base defense - do not put something radical or new in. just adjust what you do. your kids are facing this once or twice - let them do what they've done the other 12 weeks. if your base doesn't hold up then change it and make that new look your base.
10) if you play a lot of jet teams or if they are a big game take 1/2 of 2 a days (even without pads ) and work specifically on it. even if it's nott till late in the season. your kids will feeel more comfortable playing it later. if you have spring ball defend it in spring ball. it's like the flexbone if you see it only once and your kids have only 2 real days to prepare it'll kil you.
