Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We are an I offense that runs a lot of optin (veer, mid, load). I am interested in throwing the ball more this year. I want to throw 3 step, roll out, and playaction off the different options. i am trying to limit the different protections for the Line.
I use aggressive BOB for three step Turn back for full sprint out BOB fontside and turn back backside on playaction passes.
What does everyone think of slide protection for 3 step and playaction?
We are planning on using our play action/Turnback protection for all of our passing game with exception of our bootleg off of TB counter(pull backside Guard and Tackle). Playside tackle has 2nd lineman from the end fb has playside LB, TB has playside DE and the O line turns back starting at the "Bubble". We used BOB on our 3 step and it worked well but we are looking to simplify our schemes and improve our execution level. We use the same scheme on our 5 step with the FB on the DE and the PSLB is the "HOT" read - all other assignments are the same. The differences are in the technique of the O -line - aggressive on play action and 3 step - kick slide on 5 step.
What is the best blocking scheme for playaction off iso action or quick pitch action. Also, is there a reason why you wouldn't be able to use agressive pass pro on 3 step and 5 step or shotgun?

Coach with any 3 step and or play action passes you would might want to us aggressive run blocking to a pass set. I've taught this for some time as pass protections evolved and have found it to be very successful. Coach CAmpbell
For you spread offense coaches, what are the splits for your linemen. Are they reduced when you pass? Do you widen if the defense widens with you? Are they different according to your pass pro schemes, i.e. play action, slide, BOB? Thanks in advance for your feedback.
