Coach Campbell,

I purchased your Diamond Wing-T. I have couple of questions regarding my 9U team. I actually purchased it twice thinking it was two different playbooks. However, I love the books but I really need this broken down to me.

1. Blocking scheme?
2. What 3 plays for 9u do you recommend we put in first?
3. Formations 1-4?

I don't have Hudl...

Here are the LANDMARKS for two blockers working together in ZONE BLOCKING = first ATTACHMENT.

Second ATTACHMENT = the "eye progression" that TAKES them TO the landmarks.

In watching a recent Alex Gibbs lecture - he emphasized the fact that one of the most important aspects of O-LINE play (that MOST OLM coming to him have NOT been taught) is gaining LEVERAGE by dipping hips (rolling hips) on contact and "HITTING ON THE RISE". An EXAMPLE of TEACHING this on the basic DRIVE BLOCK = attached.

STRESS THE FOLLOWING: Blocking surface (drive the elbows tight to your ribs & make contact with a triangle of hat & hands with thumbs up) to a lockout; contact the short ribs at the base of the pads & “lift him out of his socks” on a 45 degree angle with fork lift motion (as if you are trying to lift his shoulder pads over his head). Shoot the hips (to unlock the power).
