6 tech DE in 4-3 over front?

Makes sense but almost seems antithema to what jimmy johnson wanted out of his front 4. Not much reading and lots of attacking.
I read his book, "Turning The Thing Around" and he seemed to indicate he wanted his front four penetrating from the snap of the ball. Let the linebackers 2 gap and read.
Maybe I am not seeing this correct. But I do know he was a BIG proponent of the 4-3 stack defense which by its very nature requires a great penetrating front 4.
