Aligning the Miami 4-3 Defense?

You ask a question that would take a BOOK to answer!!!

You align according to the SCOUTING REPORT!!!  You basically have a choice of FIELD OR FORMATION (based UPON Scouting Report)  The 3 TECH goes to the call.

Thanks again coach. If you aligned your 4-3 defense against your 2 tight one back scheme, and you called the field side strong, boundary week, play the 9 tech and the 3 tech to the field, and 2i and 7 to the boundary,. Can defensive linemen, who are used to playing outside shades, be as effective in inside shades? And would you keep them using their inside leg back, inside arm down even though they are moving to inside shades from their usual outside shades?

Can you stop power or counter to the 9 and 3 with this scheme IF the TE blocks out on the 9?

In the Miami playbook I put on here = check the SAM LB reads in that situation (Sam is the C gap player UNLESS there is a natural "gap exchange"), OR, phone me at 804-716-7038 (Va.).  My IMAGINATION isn't good enough to answer THAT question without more DETAIL.

REMEMBER:  just because a defender gets blocked, that doesn't mean they STAY blocked.  The whole idea is to DEFEAT blocks & get to the ball!!!  Ball games are played on grass, not paper!
