Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We learned this from Lance Van Zandt , when he coached Defensive Backs under Tom Osborne (in the GREAT years at Nebraska).
Two of our former players (Darren Perry & James Farrior), were "ALL-PRO" with the Steelers, and both used this technique. BOTH were EXCELLENT tacklers (Farrior was the best I ever saw)!
TECHNIQUE: Never use the head. Lead with the chest, drive your legs, and wrap up with your arms.
We may give up an extra yard or two with a high chest tackle, but BY KEEPING HEAD UP YOU SHOULDN'T MISS TACKLES. Drive into ball-carrier with as much power as you can and grab with your hands.
Follow these points: 1. Break down 2 yards yards from ball-carrier. 2. Once you break down, don't take another step forward - SHUFFLE.
