Coach Golla, I just finished watching your d line videos and learned a great deal from them. We are going to add the stimulus response method to our teaching and would like to use it with all the defensive positions. What stimulus and resonse do you use with the dbs and lbs. Thanks.
Coach, Whatever defense you run should have an answer for what the offense is trying to do. What we have done is put the answer to a vocabulary. For example for our linebackers if they see a down block with flow to them they fill (Down = Fill). If they see pull they follow (Pull - Follow). Look at what you do then apply a quick answer. If you do not read guard then what do you versus direct flow to you. We would call that Iso flow (Iso - collision) etc.... For our db's we have done the same thing. For example quarters coverage, if our corners and safty's man breaks under 7 yards they switch to look for another receiver ( Under = switch ). If the receiver goes past 5 to 13 yards we are being pushed so (Push = Slide). (Over = Top) Etc.... If you are a cover 3 team apply what you want your kids to do.... Hope this makes since. PGolla

I have your series tapes and I am having a problem with using a run/pass stimulus for my defensive backs. We play a cover 3 as well as a cover 2. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
. Can you go over the basic reads of cover 4. What happens if #1 goes does a slant and #2 does a 5 yard out out of twins? ANy other things I need to look for? I think you just go 4 across and drop into quarters.
