In-season Staff Organization Weekend

Example Weekend Staff Organization



Head Coach: Reviews and finalizes game plans for offense, defense, and special teams. Analyzes opponent's key players.



Defensive Coordinator: Analyze opponent's offense and their tendencies. Prepares defensive game plan and call sheet.



Defensive Line Coach: Analyze opponent's offensive line for tells and tendencies. Breaks down run game.



Linebacker Coach: Analyze opponent's RBs and QB for tells and tendencies. Breaks down opponent's formations. Usually in charge of special team’s game plan as well.



Defensive Backs Coach: Analyze opponent's WRs for tells and tendencies. Breaks down opponent's passing game.



Offensive Coordinator: Analyze opponent's defensive personnel and scheme. Prepares offensive game plan and call sheet.



Offensive Line Coach: Analyze opponent's box defenders and their preferred fronts and blitzes. Gives run game suggestions to OC.



Running Backs Coach: Analyze opponent's blitz tendencies by down and distance. Gives pass protection suggestions to OC.



WR/QB Coach: Analyze opponent's favorite coverages and select preferred passing concepts from the playbook to attack those coverages. Present plan to OC.



JV/Frosh Coaches: ODK, Down, Distance, Hash, Play Type, etc. Prepares film for breakdown. Handles stats from previous game.



We will meet Saturday morning to finalize breakdowns and begin game planning. Coaches are encouraged to begin breakdowns earlier in the week if possible.



Offensive, Defensive, and Special Team Teams Coordinators are responsible for finalizing game plans with the Head Coach on Sunday afternoon so playbooks can be updated on Hudl by Sunday night.
