3.3.5 Six Man Packages

My Defensive Philosophy is heavily based on stopping the run and keeping everything in front of us in the secondary. We pride ourselves in getting eleven hats to the ball every play and flying around playing free. This has allowed our defense to create negative plays for the opposing offense while also creating a greater turnover margin in our favor. The base defense we run is a 3-3-5, this is due to the heavy passing league we are in, so we use this defense to get 3 safeties on the field to help run with slot receiver while also allowing ourselves to walk down a linebacker to set the edge and rush, so we have a 4 man front. This formation also helps to apex a trip's side while also allowing us to stunt and give the offensive line multiple looks through the game. This is our base for the reasons that it is easy to add on to for a new week without having to change any of the rules that we learn in camp it has worked well for us and makes an offense drive the whole field without explosive plays time and time again which is hard to do.
