Explain to me how you would handle a Nose shade strong, 5 & 9 Tech. with the TE releasing into the route using BOB protection. Do you not have anyone to double read backside with the reduced look? How do you handle the front side on even fronts when you can tell a backer is walking up to plug? Do you block down and put the RB on the DE?
I think it would depend on the 9 tech. If he is the sam backer in a 4-3 I would free release the TE and double read the back mike to sam. If the 9 tech is an end who rushes alot like in a reduced 50 I would keep the TE in to block the 9 tech.
Against the Nose, 5, 9, look you describe we would fan the strong side with the back responsible for Sam to backside. If they reduce on the weak side, then the back would have off the edge if Sam didn't come. If Sam comes, then we're outnumbered and the weak side edge guy is the QB's. If they don't reduce on the back side, then the BSG would double read.
If a front side backer breaks the heels of the DL, we make a "gap" call, we block down and the back has the EMOL.
