Coaches do you like to have the tackle and guard duece the 3 tech. the sam and have the TE base the 7 tech. Or have the TE and Tackle trey the 7and the guard base the 3. How do you determine this??

Coach the base block on the 7 tech. by the tight end is good if he can handle it. this creates two inside combos that creates two vertical combos. Coach Campbell
I agree the plays you mentioned are better and inside zone is best run when you can get linebackers out of the box. I still think you can run inside zone vs. this front to the strong side becauseof cutback possibilities. I like to run the outside zone and get the Defense fast flowing then come back with the inside zone.
I see what you're saying Coach Joe, but you have the same cutback possiblities without the TE and you aren't as limited on the front side.
If you do wind up running it then I agree with Coach Campbell. The only effective way to run it against this front is if the TE can handle the 7 alone. The play just isn't the same without the two inside combos.

northstang correct if you take the tight end out this play turns into a stretch play. Without the tight end you get the cutback for sure. Coach Campbell
Removing the TE may remove a LB from the box, but it will eliminate the 7 tech. Now your PST can base the 5 and you don't have to worry about the TE digging him out of the hole.
