Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coach, sorry about the messages. I am still computer challenged. What would be an adjustment from the 33 def. to cover the guards just to mess with the o-line a bit vs te/wing in the wing t offense? Thanks
Lots of teams run the Bear front with the 3-3 -- we do not. i feel like there are enough adjustments in the scheme that we do not need to spend more time on another front.
All you do is kick your DE into a 3 tech and walk both stack LB's up on the LOS. I can tell you this though, most good wing-t teams block rules and a lot of the moving does not faze them.
Coach We run the bear and slant out of it. We also like to run versus the wing T is two 4i techniques. We also up 2 of our inside backers over the guards about 2 feet off and have them read blitz from there. PGOLLA
Coach, We also have a 40 front, but we teach the same 6 gap principle. We line up over the guards and tackles, and put our ilb in b gap. There aren't as many different slants/blitzes as the 3-3, but it is a different look, with the same base philosophy.
Can you explain further what you do vs wing t with your 40. I like your idea of covering the guards and the tackles. Can you explain your front and your favorite blitzes vs the wing T
I open up with a team who runs tight end wing/slot as their base formation and loves to run the jet series. (sweep, fb ice and fsg kick)
Any suggestions on how to defend it out of the 40?
Out of our 40 look, we do just a couple of things. We play our DB's and Spurs exactly the same as the 33. With our 40, we play base which is just a straight "bull rush" from all 4 dl. we also slant them strong and weak. We run an in - all 4 dl slant in, which sends them through a and b gaps, and the backers blitz c gap. we run an out, dl slant out to b and c gaps, the backers blitz through a. then we also have a split, which is really a good blitz. the ends slant out to c gap, the tackles slant in through a gap, the backers both blitz b. draw that one up, it looks tough on paper.
if you have dl that can get off the ball, these are great.
Coach, Get video from years past, most wing t teams have great tendencies... Blitz by motion etcc... let you kids call the blitz to their tendencies. GOLLA
