Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We are currently incorporating the midline and the load option into our I back offense. I am having a difficult time with our fullback. We are having a tendency to run into the read man(DE or OLB). They know they have to get to free safety but they accidentally run into the other man at times. What should I do to correct this? I am at a loss other than repping it like crazy so they know how the read man will react to the play. Thanks for any help.

Coach are you having the fullback run to the inside jersey number of the 9 tech and if so what are you telling him? I look forward to helping. Coach CAmpbell
We are currently having the FB run to the outside hip of the TE. We haven't run the Load vs. the 9 tech much yet. We are running it vs. a 4-4 with a 3 and 7 tech to the strong side. We are optioning the OLB who is 6 yards outside by 3 yards off the ball. I have told the FB to pick up any ILB that tries to cross his face as he goes to free safety. We have gone inside the OLB.
When we do see a 5 and 9 tech is when we are having most of the trouble. We should have the FB aim for the inside jersey number of the 9? If he goes to TB of course we'll cut inside of him. We always run into him though if he comes crashing down the line. What should I tell the FB to do to get out of the way?

Coach O when running at a 9 technique located on the line of scrimmage just continue to stay the course as he learns to bounce his path outside as the inside jersey number of the technique comes down inside. HIs path (FB) is like a bounce start inside then bounce outside, this restricts the 9 technique. I run the Load as a main stay of my offense. Coach CAmpbell
