Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Hey coaches I have been experimenting on paper with running midline out of an I or an I slot look.
If you run mid out of an I look what is the footwork for the tailback?
Also I want to know if anyone has run this play out of the following formation.
(I slot with 2 WR's)
The QB and FB take their regular midline steps. The TB flows outside and runs his path similar to lead option, where he is looking for a 2nd or 3rd level defender that ISNT the OLB, (hopefully the S). Esentially what this is then is a hybrid between the midline and the load option.
Has anyone tried this?

check out optioncentral.net and go to the free article it is on Coach Campell's Option on Me and the Midline out of the I is detailed out. There is nothing different than running it out of double slot, accept the pitch back is in a different position. He runs downhill to occupy the pitch key, or he can be a second B-gap blocker and block the pitch key from inside out(Navy and Falcon scheme), or you can run a Belly midline with the TB attacking the B gap and QB reading 3 for FB give or pull and TB give, QB fakes around the end to hold the pitch key from foldig into B gap. You can also run the Mike scheme, pitching off of the DE and Slot/Te arc blocking the 9/Force. I too like the I slot Open Formation. Yun can check on the line and motion the Tight Slot if need be, like if you run a midline check and the 3 tech is to the other side, QB can check to that side and the Slot will motion over to block. Also check out my recent post on OptionCentral.nets message board on ideas out of I slot Open.
