Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
What depth do you guys run your corner routes at and what type of angle is the route broken off at? We are having trouble with our guys breaking to their corner route and being in a position where the QB has to throw the ball basically directly over the receivers body.
Thanks

We tell our guys that we are going to make our cut on the 8th step. This is anywhere between 9-11 yards, depending on the WR. When we throw the ball, we want the QB throwing the WR open. We try to get the ball and the WR to a spot half-way between the CB and the FS. We say it is the QB's job to put the ball where it needs to be and when it needs to be there. We tell our WR's that they have to whip their head around quick on their cut and accelerate to the ball. Generally the WR is breaking at a 45 degree angle.
Spurrier threw the CORNERS at Florida as well as I have ever seen it thrown. He taught the WR to SPLIT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DEEP & SHORT COVERAGE (break at roughly 12 yds & bend into that area - not a sharp final move)
