Coach -

It is tough for your center to block back on a 3 tech so we always check the play to a 3 technique. This way you get a double chip on the 3 tech with the guard and tackle and the center gets to block back on an A gap player...either a 1 or 2i technique.

It has worked well for me in the past and it simplifies the blocking rules for the line.

Play around with it on paper.

We are going to be facing a 5-2 with a nose, LB's stacked over the Guards and two 4 over the tackles. Can you run counter tre effectively vs this? We run from the gun a lot, I'm thinking of either having the TE step to his inside gap or scissors action in the backfield and the 1st back that is faking seal off the 4 tech. What do you all think?

We use G, GT and T. It gives us a flexibility to pull linemen allover the place if we see a weakness or tendancy.
