Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone has seen this formation in action...installed as a base offense anyway. Currently we're running a shotgun 4 Wr offense for the first time this year w/ a lack of speed, power, pure talent, or experience on the offensive line. We changed offenses from the Wishbone triple option to this offense so we could get away from 8 and 9 people in the box and we have pretty decent team speed in the skill positions. Only problem is the best passing QB is a very weak, but quick runner and is also a sophomore that has no experience. We have a senior Runningback who converted to Qb at the beginning of the season who has a decent arm(pitcher in baseball) just he's very inaccurate...however our runninggame is struggling out of the shotgun, and when your QB is not a great passer what can you do? This year is obviously a rebuiding year for us...2 returners both sides of the ball...the same two kids start both ways. However, I found this link and it seemed interesting to me. bcwarrior.coachingstaff.com/Offense/shortpunt/SHORTPUNT.HTM
Its the short punt offense and I've never seen this offense actually used in the game especially as a base offense...I'm wondering what people think the advantages of putting our runningback at QB even though his passing isn't all that great...but with 7 yards instead of 5 away from the line it gives him more time to throw which we desperately need anway no matter who's QB and it would also allow the QB to be back off the line so he could see holes open a little bit better...Also a lot of wing back plays and direct snaps to the FB can be used off of this and there is some other advantages listed on the website. I wanna know what people think about this offense and if its worth the risk of switching. THanks
