Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom

I am trying to figure out what type of pattern or routine is the best for getting test results on the Dot Drills. Is their a particular pattern that everyone tests on....like BFS or can it be any type you make up? Also, what type of intervals do you test...20 secs....30 secs or less.
We work the dot drill by rt foot 5x in an x motion without crossing in the back, lt foot 5x, both feet 5x, splitting 5x, and split turn 5x for the best time. Every time a kid misses the dot we add a 1/2 second to his time. We have other variations as well, as turning the dot drill pad horizontally instead of vertically. Our record for the aforementioned drill is 21 seconds.
as you can imagine being a player in Great Britain where football isnt exactly a well known or well coached sport would you like to explain to me what the dot drills are? i want to improve my quickness and my overall speed and will soon be doing some ladder drills to improve this. do you guys have your athletes do both ladder and dot drills? and what kind of weekly schedule would you recomend for me?
We have had a lot of success with dots. We have a small school and have to entice kids in the weightroom by challenging them, one way is with dot drill timing. Here is how it works:
We do 2 sets
Every different type of move is continous, with 5 full reps (up and back) and timed:
#1- Splits- corners, middle corner- fornt to back with feet split
#2- Feet together (Slaom)- corner, middle, corner, across to corner, middle, corner
#3- One foot (right)
#4-One foot (left)
#5- Split turns- feet spread, corners, middle corners, quick 180 degree turn and back
At the end we find total time, and add one second for every time they miss a dot. It is a great source for body corrdiantion, quickness and conditioning when done contionous.
