Looking for some successful plays out of Empty Set (3 x 2). I have got a great athlete to put back there...just curious what some others have done besides sprinting out.

Could you talk about your streak read concept. Also, what kind of crossing package do you use (kentucky mesh?) Do you run bunch a lot or just into the boundary?
I got if from gary crowton and in a nuttshell it is a vertcial concept which uses a read on the run(much like rns choice). it takes alot of practice but it makes the vertical passing game much more effective. basically any twins set will work. the outside rec has the streak read and starts to make his decision at 8-10 yd it goes something like this. if the db is over the top the wr sits it down it what is a 10-14yd hitch. if the wr has beaten the db it is a vertical route. now here is where it gets kinds of a gray area. say the wr and db are even step for step ideally we would like the wr to club the db by and sitdown. it doesnot always work that way with h.s. kids I have some handouts on the concept.
on the crossing route we run what is a called dragons. a drag with a under. say we are in a 2x2 set and we are running it to the right. slot on the right would run the crosser, the slot to the left would run a under or dig route. the wr to the right has a blitz(slant rotue)post route. if the defender over the slot blites, the wr has a slant to fill the void left by the blitzing defender. the wr on the other side has a slant/vertical route same theory. crossers in my opinion work best vs single safety defense ie cover 1, cover 3. now if you are in a noback set you can do somethings to help yourself. to the tirps side you could run a smash route to the two widest rec., send the next slot inside on the crosser and have the backside slot run the under or dig. the backside wr has a blitz/vertical read.
We run a small empty set package with a lot of the quick game that you listed. I would be interested to see/hear any notes or other in-depth info that you may have in regards to the empty set or 2x2.
